As far as current scientific understanding goes, there is no evidence that the universe is sentient or has consciousness. It all seems inanimate matter, energy, and physical laws that govern interactions. While some living beings may possess consciousness, it is not attributed to the universe itself.
When As far as current scientific understanding goes, there is no evidence that the universe is sentient or has consciousness. It all seems inanimate matter, energy, and physical laws that govern interactions. While some living beings may possess consciousness, it is not attributed to the universe itself. I think of how long people live I ask myself if the universe is not sentient could it be a computational machine instead? It would take a lot of resources to compute the complexity of human life. If people lived 200 years it would double the compute resource needed. Just as we humans put more compute online, we see humans are living longer and that number will certainly go up.
Maybe the universe is a giant computation machine that goes a long a resource evolutionary path. As it gets better, we get better. Even the new theory of population collapse could be to preservation mechanism for consciousness as humans outstrip resources. A checks and balances system.
